Class of 2022 'Moving Up Ceremony'

June 2, 2016 - The Sixth Grade Moving Up Ceremony for the Class of 2022 was held on Thursday morning in St. Alban's Chapel.

Following the procession of the Class of 2022, Hymn No. 376 "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Three" was sung.

The Rev. Daniel L. Leatherman gave the Invocation, which was followed by class speakers Sarah Boland, Jaron Kawamura and Celine Carr, and a song by the Lower School Choir.

After Head of School Dr. Timothy R. Cottrell addressed the congregation, Dean of the Lower School Mrs. Linda Look and Assistant Dean of the Lower School Mr. Zachary Linnert presented awards and commendations to several sixth graders.

Jake Peacock delivered the thank you to the parents, which was followed by a surprise song. The Class of 2022 turned toward their parents and sang "Music of My Heart."

That was followed by the Alma Mater and Lord's Prayer.

The Rev. Nicole Simopoulos-Pigato gave the Benediction.

Before the retiring procession, Hymn No. 488 "Be Thou My Vision" was sung.

Following the ceremony, the sixth graders gathered on the lawn of the Head of School's residence for their official class photo, and pictures with parents and grandparents who are 'Iolani alumni.

Congratulations to all!
